Long Beach consists of some of the best coffee shops this side of the Mississippi. A port city that hosts a melting pot of cultures around and local coffee shops. Long Beach has about 500,000 residents is the 2nd busiest container port in the United States. Now let's talk coffee shops.
In this post we are going to talk about 5 coffee shops we are kickin' it at these days. Long Beach hosts a ton of great little shops around it's diverse neighborhoods. It was hard to narrow it down to just 5 but I think these shops will be a great place to start.
1208 E Wardlow Rd, Long Beach, CA 90807 | 6A-7P (Weekends 7A-6P)
Personality: The decor is modern and functional. The baristas on bar are some of the nicest in the city. The thing that separates them is they're a Multi-Roaster that doesn't roast for themselves. You can find coffee from roasters from Canada and the US.
Specialty Drink(s): Vanilla Latte, Lavender Latte, Cortado
Vibe: Conversations are always flowing, great tunes on the radio, and a very friendly and talented staff.
Parking: Street and a small lot behind the shop.
237 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90802 | 7A-7P (Weekends 7A-8P)
Personality: One of the newer kids on the block but don't underestimate their knowledge of coffee. Their manager/barista Kim has years of coffee knowledge and is a Long Beach coffee legend. The shop is modern but the hospitality and amazing coffee makes you come back for more. They just started roasting for themselves so we are excited to see what they have in store.
Specialty Drink(s): Iced Basilfruit, Espresso Shake, Sea Salt Affogato
Vibe: Downtown vibe with a warmness from their staff that blends well with a dope Spotify playlist.
Parking: Parking Garage (2 Hours Free)
1101 E 3rd St, Long Beach, CA 90802 | 7A-6P (Weekends 8A-6P)
Personality: A surfers idea of a coffee shop that sticks to the basics but also gets a little weird. Their coffee is some of the best in the region.
Specialty Drink(s): Pour Overs, Cappuccino, Latte
Vibe: Plants and a beautiful retro coffee roaster in the back. Very chill vibe that only a surfer could dream up.
Parking: Street parking.
Rose Park Roasters
3044 E 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90814 | 6A-6P
Personality: These guys are one of the older specialty shops in Long Beach that used to deliver via bike. A Long Beach favorite in which you can find Rose Park coffee in a ton of local restaurants and cafes. They don't do pour overs but have coffee that's ready to go and taps of cold brew.
Specialty Drink(s): Seasonal Lattes, Cold Brew (on tap)
Vibe: Small but cozy. Instagram worthy walls.
Parking: Street parking.
420 E 4th St, Long Beach, CA 90802 | 7A-8P
Personality: Berlin was opened after the OG coffee shop Portfolio which is a tasty cafe that has solid coffee options. Berlin is more of a cafe that offers up Stumptown coffee and great food.
Specialty Drink(s): Nitro Stumptown Cold Brew, Chemex
Vibe: Berlin is next to an amazing record shop and offers beer and wine. Their outside parklet is a great option on a nice day.
Parking: Street parking, lot parking.
Fox Coffee House
437 W Willow St, Long Beach, CA 90806 | 10A- 6P (Weekends 8A-6P)
